Beautiful Basics That Are Far From Your Granny's Panties

Full-coverage panties have come a long way from being a choice between panty lines or saggy bum. And lucky you! We're going to share our two very favourite styles with you!

A long-time advocate of thongs, I have to admit that good-ol' granny panties certainly have their place in a woman's intimates collection. Many women are comfortable in nothing but full coverage panties, while others lean on the comfort once a month. For me,  at minimum, a moderate coverage panty is an expectant mother's essential.

There's no correlation, however, between boring, saggy or worse - 'bum-cupping' grannies and comfort. Fabric technology today lends itself to quite the opposite. Well-constructed, moderate to full coverage panties can be sleek, minimal, supportive and comfortable all at once.

My two most loved styles are Hanky Panky's Retro V-kini and Fleur't Intimates Top Drawer Boyshort. Both have a signature styling that has raised them to 'classic' status, suitable for a range of body types. Both are always available in neutrals, plus are released in a range of seasonal fashion colours. A further testament to their longevity.

Hanky Panky Retro V-Kini.
Available at Bare Basics Lingerie Boutique.

The Hanky Panky Retro V-kini in the brand's signature lace, has amazing stretch and support. It holds up wash after wash (given proper lingerie care). The extra-broad, waist band that sits high in classic pin-up styling with absolutely no digging or rolling.

Also in a range of colours  and a thong version (not shown).

Fleur't Top Drawer Boyshorts.
Available at Bare Basics Lingerie Boutique.

Basic doesn't get much comfier than Top Drawer Boy Shorts by Fleur''t. The incredibly soft and stretchy jersey is framed with an inch thick lace trim. The trim lies flat and discreet at the waist and hips making these go-to panties under pencil skirts, skinnies or p.j.'s, all the same!

Also in a range of colours and a thong version (not shown).

What's your go-to granny?
